PRAISE, WORSHIP AND BIBLE TEACHING

Our main meeting is held every Sunday at 10.45am.  This usually begins with a lively time of praise and worship enjoyed by all ages.  Each week we share bread and wine together to remember Jesus’ death and resurrection, as He commanded us.  There is opportunity for members to share songs, testimonies and spiritual gifts.  Time is always set aside for preaching and teaching from the Bible, usually with separate classes for the children.  We finish about 12.30, but then encourage everyone to stay for a cup of tea or coffee so we can chat.

Opportunity for more in-depth bible study is often provided during the week, with a smaller informal group working interactively.  Most of our regulars have completed the Alpha Course and our own Discipleship Course covering the main areas of evangelical doctrine.

FELLOWSHIP

At least once a month we plan some sort of social activity involving the whole congregation, such as a trip out or a shared meal.  Smaller groups are encouraged to meet informally, and the café is open five days a week, providing a place for Christians to fellowship with one another and with other friends.   For the last 3 years we have also organised a short break when the whole church can go away together.

OUTREACH

We are keen to share our faith in Christ and have been involved in running special events, visiting homes, distributing literature and meeting people on the streets and in their homes.  Sometimes we have done this in co-operation with other churches. 

Much of our outreach activity is now concentrated on the Friary estate where the Friary Care Group operates and where we run clubs for children and young people.

In addition to this we actively support a number of local Christian-based initiatives, as well as missions activity abroad.

PRAYER

Prayer works!  We have seen some amazing answers to the things we have asked God for.  Our main prayer meeting is held on Tuesday evenings each week.  If you would like prayer for a particular need please ask!  We will also be pleased to pray with you personally at any of our meetings, or visit you in your home if you prefer.
